Key Feature Details

I recently borrowed from a friend the Darlac Lightweight Shears just so as I could try them out. According to the manufacturer they have been designed with efficiency and ease of use in mind, and offer a remarkable combination of lightweight construction and precise cutting capabilities.

  • I noticed instantly that these were light in weight (0.6kg) and they do have a feather-light feel that makes prolonged use very comfortable. This feature is appreciated as it does reduce strain on the hands and wrists.
  • The sharp blades of the shears are another highlight for me. They made clean and accurate cuts with minimal effort on my part.
  • The ergonomic design of the handles I liked. The handles are comfortable to grip, and the overall balance of the shears feels good during use.
  • The shears  were easy to clean.
  • On the downside I did notice that the nut that holds the blades did loosen a couple of times. It wasn't a huge issue but I think that could irritate me if I was using them on a regular basis.

Our Verdict on the Robert Dyas Darlac Lightweight Garden Shears

What I did find interesting was that many buyers commented on the bounce of these shears. For those that are not familiar with what that means, I will try and explain this.

When clipping with hedge shears you start to get a rhythm, and that makes cutting easier. So when you clip and make a cut, then the shears bounce slightly open again, making the next cut easier and faster.

Buyers also said the extra length in the handle makes these a good choice for those that are not as strong as they used to be. Finally buyers also said that after extensive use, the blades have remained very sharp.

I am someone who enjoys a little gardening. Now I am not someone who spend hours in the garden, but I do like both my front and back gardens to look really nice. Well kept lawns, neatly trimmed hedges, and borders filled with plants, make a huge difference, to how your property looks.
