Tool Only Explained
As you can see you can buy a Makita lawnmower without the battery and charger and this is called a "tool only" option. This is ideal if you already own batteries and a charger for other compatible Makita power or garden tools.

Cutting Widths Explained
The width of a mower will determine how quickly you can cut your lawn. In reality the bigger the better. You tend to find that the cutting width is bigger on mowers designed to cut larger lawns. 43cm is pretty much the standard width cutting size on most mowers.
You should also consider do you perhaps have a narrow strip of lawn which is hard to get at. Just check that the width of the mower will be able to fit into that strip of lawn.
Cutting Heights Explained
The height that you cut your grass to is really a matter of personal choice. Some people like it really short, and others prefer a lush look and to do that it needs to be longer.
The first cut of the Spring means your grass is usually long. It is better to do an initial cut on a high setting, and then do the next cut on a lower setting. That makes it easier for your mower and is actually better for your lawn as well. The grass doesn't get damaged from too harsh a cut.
Most mowers should offer heights from around 20mm and up to 50mm. Lawns are best kept at 25-40 mm tall.
