Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 Cordless Lawnmower Main Review
We have completed a full review just below, and we have concentrated on the key features that you should consider before buying this model.
Ease of Use
The good news about any cordless mower is that they are very easy to use. As long as you remember to have your battery charged, then simply plug it in, and away you go. There are no leads to worry about and you can take it just about anywhere you like as you don't need an electrical supply.
This Mighti-Mo model is light to move around and the wheels are big enough to get through the grass. It doesn't get right up to the edges and is about 1-2 cm shy of that. It is fast and does a very good job of cutting the grass.
Quite a few buyers do complain about the battery jumping out, and that is not ideal, especially if you have a bumpy lawn. It won't be an issue on flat lawns, but for those with humps and bumps, that could get annoying.
Ease of Assembly
When we read through the reviews, the time varies as to how long it takes to assemble this mower. It does come in several pieces inside the box. The instructions are easy enough to understand. From start to finish, it will take about 15 minutes to set it up.
Some buyers have said that the grass box is really fiddly to put together. Other than that, there are no major issues with assembly.
This does get mixed reviews. It seems capable of lasting long enough for smaller gardens, but would not be any good on medium to larger garden sizes. Just be aware of that if you are thinking about buying this particular model.
It takes a couple of hours to charge the battery, so if you don't get your lawn finished, that can be a long wait.
Why Pick the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 40V Cordless Lawn Mower?
By owning a cordless lawnmower of any type or brand you instantly get a few clear benefits:
- It is environmentally friendly when compared to petrol mowers
- No trailing leads to worry about and no extension leads either
- The battery and charger can be used with other compatible brand tools - that means you can buy those as tool only at a much cheaper price
- Cordless mowers are very quiet when compared to other types of mowers.
Cordless mowers vary in price from £150- £900. That will depend on the brand, the features and the quality of the build. Mowers with wider cutting widths are more expensive. Having more height adjustments make these more expensive. Being IPX4 rated for use in wet weather also make them more expensive.
This Flymo model sits at around £260 depending on where you buy it. For the mower, a battery and a charger, this is a about the right price for a small mower.
The majority of online buyers thought it was good value for money, but opinion is divided between those who think this is lightweight and handy, to those who think it is just not worth it.
The Size of your Lawn
It doesn't take long to work out the size of your lawn. You just simply pace it out. A good stride is about a metre long so when we did our front garden it was about 6 metres x 6 metres, and the back garden was 5 metres by 20 metres.
A simple multiplication tells us that the front garden is (6x6) 36 square metres and the rear is (5x20) 100 square metres. So we need a mower that can mow up to around 136 square metres with a single charged battery.
You should do the same as that will help you buy the right cordless mower for your needs.
This Flymo model can handle up to 200 square metres from one charge. Both lawns should be easy to cut in around 15 minutes, so we know the battery will cover that with a little bit of life left.
If you have gardens bigger than this, then this is not the one for you. This mower has a small 30cm cutting width (around one foot) so it would take a lot of passes to cover a larger lawn.
It is all too easy to forget when purchasing something new to think carefully about the warranty/guarantee.
With any Flymo tool there is a 12 month guarantee and by registering the products on flymo.com the warranty will be expanded by a further 12 months.
All claims made against the manufacturer's warranty must be supported by proof of purchase i.e. receipt of purchase.

Our Verdict on the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300
85% customer satisfaction based on 1,500+ online buyer reviews
This Flymo model sells consistently online and is about the average price you can expect to pay for a small cordless lawnmower with a battery and charger.
If you have a garden lawn area of less than 200 square metres, this mower is going to be able to handle that on a single charge.
We would stress that this model is really only suitable for small gardens, so just be fully aware of this. It will work well enough on those, but anything bigger and you will be disappointed, according to the buyer reviews.
Also be aware of the battery issue we mentioned earlier, as that seems to generate the most complaints.
For anyone though, who just wants the simple convenience of pulling out a lawnmower, getting the grass cut quickly, and then storing it away to the next time, this one will do the job nicely. There are better and higher quality models out there, but they will also mean having to take a few more notes out of the wallet.
