Best Seedling Heat Mat UK

By  Enda

Thanks for taking your time to read our information on the best seedling heat mats that are currently available on the UK market. A seedling heat mat is a waterproof mat, and inside the layers of the mat, there are also very small heating coils.

You plug the mat into an electrical socket, and very slowly, the coils heat up and offer a gentle heat, which is ideal to help with the growth of seeds. They are a very good way of getting your seedlings started.

4. LERWAY Seedling Heating Mat

LERWAY Seedling Heating Mat Plant Warming Mat Waterproof Greenhouse Heating Pad 21W for Propagation Germination Tray

This mat measures 27.3 x 7.3 x 7.2 cm and weighs 460 Grams and is totally waterproof with IP-67 waterproof protection level. This model is a bit more powerful at 21watts.

It's also a good but more expensive than the rest and I can't really give you any explanation for that apart from that extra power.  Maybe it's because they promote that is suited for indoor greenhouses as well as for using in the terrarium area, beer brewing etc. Though the rest of the models here can do that too.

What's the best seedling heat mat here?

I can hear myself asking what is the difference between all these mats and really the answer is very little indeed. I am really inclined to just buy the cheapest one as they are pretty much all the same and I think you should just do the same.

If they are waterproof, can put out 17w or higher and will fit the standard tray size then I wouldn't be looking very much further. All these mats will fit that criteria easily so take your pick. they will all cost around the same to run and at £1.50 a month there is not much savings to be had.

If you want to heat a small greenhouse or an area where you are brewing beer then go for the more powerful mat, otherwise the cheapest one is the option to go for. It's not often I will tell you that but in this case it is

I hope this information has been helpful to you and good luck with your propagating

I am someone who enjoys a little gardening. Now I am not someone who spend hours in the garden, but I do like both my front and back gardens to look really nice. Well kept lawns, neatly trimmed hedges, and borders filled with plants, make a huge difference, to how your property looks.
